Customers
Customers are businesses that purchase or use goods delivered by an OCP consumer.
Example
Wood Unlimited is a consumer of the OCP, utilizing the App4Sales application. A part of their business involves selling wood for treehouses.
The company TreeHouseBuilding Inc. purchases wood from Wood Unlimited, making them a customer of Wood Unlimited.
Creating new customers
When creating a new customer in the OCP, you can define your own customer code. This customer code is used for interactions with OCP endpoints. When the customer is created in an external application (e.g., an ERP system), the external code field is populated with the corresponding external identifier.
DANGER
The OCP always saves the external identifier, even if one already exists. This means the existing value will be overwritten.
Attributes
Customers has support for attributes usage.
Filtering
To learn more about filtering, see the guide on filtering entities.
Groups
Customer groups allow you to configure settings for multiple customers at once. To use groups, you first create a customer list that defines which customers belong to the group.
Once the list is defined, you can apply shared configurations (e.g., visible channel items) to all customers in that list, making it easier to manage large sets of customers efficiently.
